PlateSplit Privacy Policy

1. Overview

PlateSplit is designed to make bill splitting quick and simple. Most bill, receipt, and split information is stored locally on your device, and the app does not require account creation.

2. Information PlateSplit May Access or Process

Camera data when you scan a receipt.
Photo library data when you choose a receipt image from your library.
Receipt and bill data such as restaurant names, items, prices, tip values, assigned people, and saved summaries.
Purchase-related data for PlateSplit Pro, processed through Apple.
Advertising, consent, and diagnostic data processed by third-party SDKs used in the free version of the app.

3. How Information Is Used

To scan and interpret receipts.
To let you review, edit, and split bill items.
To save receipt history and generate summaries for sharing.
To process and restore PlateSplit Pro purchases.
To display banner ads in the free version of the app.
To support diagnostics, consent handling, and ad-related functionality through third-party providers.

4. Local Storage

PlateSplit primarily stores receipt and split data locally on your device using Apple technologies. If you delete saved receipts in the app, that local data is removed from the app. If you delete the app, locally stored app data may also be removed, subject to your device and backup settings.

5. Camera and Photo Permissions

PlateSplit may request access to your camera to scan receipts and access to your photo library to import receipt images. You can deny or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

6. In-App Purchases

PlateSplit Pro is offered as an in-app purchase through Apple StoreKit. Billing, payment, and transaction handling are managed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.

7. Advertising and Third-Party Services

The free version of PlateSplit may show banner ads. PlateSplit uses third-party services such as Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform. These services may collect certain information, which can include device identifiers, IP address, diagnostics, performance data, advertising data, and interaction data, in order to support advertising, consent management, analytics, and service performance.

These third parties process data according to their own privacy policies. Google’s privacy information is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Data Sharing

PlateSplit does not sell your personal information. However, third-party providers such as Apple and Google may process data as needed to provide purchases, advertising, diagnostics, analytics, or related services.

9. Your Choices

You can choose not to grant camera or photo access.
You can delete saved receipts from within the app.
You can remove the app and its locally stored data from your device.
You can manage privacy and advertising permissions through your device settings and consent prompts where available.

10. Children’s Privacy

PlateSplit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
